Notice how we tend to judge our own actions by our intentions, and we judge others' intentions by their actions.
Oh, how often do we say: "It might have been," when we could have said, "I acted, and it happened."
Knowing others' perceptions of yourself is to know yourself better.
Accomplishment and fulfillment happen when we remember: "There's always a next step to take . . . and another . . . and another . . . toward your goals.
Our own identities are shaped by:
o Our comparison of ourselves with others
o Our relationships with others
o Our sense of feeling useful
o Our hopes and fears
o Our own life's many stories
